#Football Study Abroad - 413 Days
Daniel is currently studying BTEC Year 2 (a two-year vocational program) in the UK, so it’s time to start thinking about university.
Last year, the plan was for him to return to Taiwan after finishing college, but his football academy has negotiated a partnership with Loughborough University. Based on his current performance, he can be directly admitted to Loughborough.
Loughborough University isn't some third-rate institution; a quick Google search shows it's ranked 10th overall in the UK, and number one globally in sports science.
At this point, I am hesitating; how can a Taiwanese private vocational student get an offer to enter the world’s top sports university without exams? And Loughborough also has its own football team, which is an added bonus.
But for my son, who has always dreamed of being a professional football player, academics were always his plan B, C, D, and E. Staying on means burning more of parents’ money, even though his sister has offered to give him the funds set aside for her own study abroad plans to help him achieve his dream. Daniel, however, is still not so sure.
